Just to prove to you that direct mail is still a very viable and profitable medium to make money from, I’m going to present to you a couple of direct mail data cards of two prominent direct marketers. (Names not disclosed for confidential reasons). The information is actually public information.
The first is from a company that’s selling a health report to people over the age of 50. Pictured is their 2022 data card.
As you can see. This direct marketer sold 23,193 of his product at a price of $109 dollars between October and December of last year, 2022.
If you do the math that comes to $2.5 million in front end sales. As you can also see, he sold a total of 49,293 products in total all of last year.
If you multiply 49,293 x $109, it comes to $5.3 million dollars generated in a year.
Keep in mind, that is just from the front end sales. The amount does not take into consideration his back end sales.
The additional follow up sales to those same customers with some of your other products and upsells.
Would you say a company that is bringing in just under $450,000 a month in offline sales, proves direct mail is not dead?
Of course it does!
